The eBay ban on downloadable products

Up until the start of this month people were able to buy extremely cheap ebooks on eBay on just about any topic imaginable. Prices were typically less than $1.

Now eBay have banned the sale of immediately downloadable products which means the sellers now have to deliver their product on a physical CD or DVD. Obviously the price will skyrocket, at the very least, by the amount it costs to ship the product.

So, despite the fact a lot of the ebooks were rubbish, there were heaps which offered good information. One popular topic was internet marketing. Unfortunately aspiring marketers are now looking at a hefty increase in their education.

Why would someone want to sell an ebook so cheaply anyway?

The answer is advertising. What you'll find in many ebooks are links that take you to a sales page for a product that relates to the topic of the ebook. So, for example, assuming your ebook was about pet care you may find links to higher priced ebooks such as "Caring for your Dog" and "Caring for your Cat".

I had just started selling ebooks on eBay when they decided to implement their ban. So I'll just be giving those same ebooks away from my website. You can get them here.

There'll be more ebooks added regularly, so check back often.

bye for now
Sharon
